Set up the wall. It screws the studs to the track.

Stud Master rides the top track of a standing steel-stud wall. At each stud it pushes the stud to its spacing, holds it and screws it to the track, then moves on to the next one. An EPIC tool in development. Patent pending.

Every wall is hundreds of studs set by hand.

Before a wall gets board, somebody sets every stud in the top track: slide it to the mark, check the spacing, hold it plumb and drive the screws, usually from a ladder. Then move the ladder and do it again, stud after stud, wall after wall.

What Stud Master does

Set up the wall on the glass, hit Start, and Stud Master works its way down the top track:

  • Pushes each stud to its spacing.
  • Holds it in place.
  • Screws it to the track, then rolls on to the next stud.

Your crew stands the studs in the tracks and keeps working while the top gets fastened.

Run it from the glass

Setup takes a few taps on the tablet:

Spacing.

16 or 24 in OC, or set your own.

The wall.

Enter the wall length or the stud count, plus your stud and track size.

Screws.

Pick the screw type and load the screws.

Start point.

Set where the first stud goes, then hit Start. BIM import is optional.

Why it matters

Fewer ladder moves.

The tool travels the top track, so the crew isn't up and down the ladder for every stud.

Consistent spacing.

Every stud lands on the spacing you set, the same way down the whole wall.

Less overhead work.

Less time driving screws over your head means less wear on shoulders, wrists and necks.

Made for metal framing.

Framing and drywall contractors and the crews who stand steel-stud walls every day.
