How We Got Here

I’ve been a plumber for over 20 years, and I’ve drilled thousands of holes through studs and plates, a lot of them off a ladder. I always figured there had to be a better way, so I started building one on my own time. These are a few clips from the early builds, rough edges and all. It’s real garage engineering, and each test taught us something that went into the Epic Drill Master.

The first climb

The first time it climbed a stud on its own, right in the living room. That’s my partner cheering it up the wall, and yes, we got a little excited.

The speed test

We pushed the climb speed from 500 to 1800 to find the limit. At 1800 it slipped, and on the way back down it leveled itself right back out.

Three heads at once

All three hole saws plunge in together and pull back out together. Three holes in one pass instead of three trips up a ladder, built by a plumber sweating it out in his garage.
